Barton House is a 20-bed memory care community dedicated to caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our intimate, home-like environment allows us to provide highly personalized care for each resident. Position Overview
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CMT) plays an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents. This position is responsible for safely administering medications, monitoring residents for changes in condition, and assisting with daily care needs. The Medication Aide works closely with the nursing team and caregivers to ensure residents receive compassionate, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies.
Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records.
Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nurse or leadership team.
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed.
Support residents during meals and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
Communicate effectively with caregivers, nurses, and leadership regarding resident care needs.
Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
Provide compassionate support and redirection for residents experiencing dementia-related behaviors.
Promote resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Qualifications
Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CMT) certification in good standing.
Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferred.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Compassion, patience, and a passion for caring for individuals living with dementia.
Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced caregiving environment.
Working Environment
This position operates within a memory care residential setting and involves frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff. Light lifting and assisting residents with mobility may be required.
