Memory Care - Resident Assistant

Job Summary

Responsible for providing compassionate, dependable, and respectful care to residents in a safe and comfortable living environment. Duties include assisting residents with daily living activities, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility and meal reminders. Caregivers monitors residents’ well-being, maintains a clean and organized living space, provides companionship and emotional support, and reports any changes in residents’ conditions to the appropriate staff. Must demonstrate patience, reliability, good communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others maintain their dignity and quality of life.

Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental health.

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and geriatrics is an advantage
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
• Physical ability to perform lifting minimum of 50lb and assist with resident transfers using proper techniques
• Commitment to respecting resident rights and maintaining confidentiality at all times
